La Desirade

La Desirade 4 Wind Farm

La Desirade, Guadeloupe

La Desirade wind farm was the first wind farm ever built in Guadeloupe in 1992. The local target was to supply 25% of electricity generated on the island from renewable sources of energy, which whole fits in the global concerns expressed in Agenda 21 and the Kyoto agreements.

The Guadeloupe Region, the electrical local authorities and AEROWATT company have chosen VERGNET equipment with confidence for 20 years.

VERGNET medium power wind turbines are perfectly adapted to cyclonic areas and have largely proved their efficiency.

Thanks to La Désirade 4 installation, the total wind power installed by VERGNET in Guadeloupe reaches 26 MW.
