Wind

Pavana Energy Ltd., provide highly specialized services relating to the complex planning of your wind energy project needs.

What is Wind Energy?

Wind power or wind energy describes the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping water), or can be converted into electricity by a generator.

Making use of Powerful Wind Corridors

Barbados is blessed by being the most easternly of all the Caribbean islands and as such has a powerful wind resource.  Use of wind in Barbados has a historic significance in the windmills used to produce sugar cane and has always been an excellent benefit to the island.

Painless Professional Installation

At Pavana Energy we used technologies which can be installed within the environment of small islands. Our turbines can be serviced by turning down, hence making them adaptable and very serviceable in a small island environment. Our solar projects are designed so that they can be installed in tough terrain in a modular way.

Impacting Caribbean Sustainability

A mix of renewable energy generation and storage is required for the Caribbean islands to be sustainable.  Wind energy is going to be a significant part of that as internationally its’ generation cost per MW is one of the more economical technologies.  Wind energy can be produced night and day as opposed to solar that is restricted to sunlight hours.
